You may wish to consider the benefit of additionally promoting that the orange route be aligned a little further south of Woodgreen so that the gradients and maximum elevation are all reduced. This will provide immediate benefits in terms of distance of the A14 from Godmanchester, but more importantly, over the life of the road will significantly reduce the carbon emissions as vehicles will not have to use more fuel to climb then immediately descend. Instead they can maintain a relatively level grade, hence improving fuel economy over this section of the A14 route. This will benefit us and future residents in the surrounding area.
